Rich Kids

Glen Matlock's post-Pistols project with Midge Ure (who would later front Ultravox). The title track from their one and only album, which was produced by Mick Ronson.

From the ITV program Revolver, hosted by Peter Cook; 1978. The Rich Kids were purportedly a last minute replacement after PiL pulled out.

matlock's book is pretty good. i've always thought he was the talent in that band. (steve jones in the stooges? puh-leeze!) that said, i liked ultravox better pre-ure ("systems of romance" in particular). you should care.

Well, I do!

Jones, Cook, and Lydon admit that forcing Matlock out of the band was a big mistake. Cook and Jones as a team were good (ie The Professionals), but without Matlock's contribution - particularly his collaboration with Lydon - the writing dynamic within the Sex Pistols was destroyed.

It's really hard to imagine anyone else taking the helm as guitarist in the Stooges (Williamson's return to the fold would be a tad more palatable). I guess we'll see what transpires...
