Six degrees and such

Brought into existence by Ken Lockie and Keith Levene under the original moniker The Quick Spurts, Cowboys International would release one LP (1979's The Original Sin) and a handful of singles before dissolving in 1980. The group was a revolving door of members, consisting at one time or another such musicians as Terry Chimes (The Clash), Marco Pirroni (Adam and the Ants), and Steve Shears (Ultravox). Ken Lockie and bassist Pete Jones would go on to join (briefly, and Lockie left just about as quickly as he came) post-Wobble, post-Flowers of Romance Public Image Ltd., which Jones' tenure with the group would be captured on the official/unofficial Commercial Zone (1983) album.

Memory jog

In the synaptic archives and brought out from a lap around YouTube: Lizzy Mercier Descloux. A pioneer of the No Wave and World Beat genres, the first vid contains two songs (a cover of Arthur Brown's "Fire" and original composition "Torso Corso") from her 1979 debut Press Color and the second is a tune from her sophomore effort, 1981's Mambo Nassau.
