And now...

Had a fun, noisy, and cold night with HIO (consisting of Michael Briggs, Marcus Brunt, Terry Horn, Nevada Hill, Ken Shimamoto, Ramsey Sprague, and I). It was officially our last show before beginning the "world tour" next month. Better get my jabs before going abroad.

To Denton.

And Dallas.

For Kat, who was channeling John Cleese throughout the evening:

Home boy

Was raining and sleeting this morning. Considering that the conditions were to supposedly worsen throughout the day, I didn't have to go to work today (Footnote: the office closed before noon. Cold weather and rain proves to be not very conducive for productive days in the roofing industry). Spent the morning/afternoon recording vocals on a track tentatively titled "Ypres". I'm as happy with it as I'm probably ever going to be. Wish I could carry a tune, even with a bucket...

And now the time comes to scoop horse poo.

F, S, and a bit of S

Friday: Met with Ken and Terry at the Bull and Bush for a couple of drinks, then headed to Tokyo Cafe for some grubbage. Good way to kick off the weekend.

Saturday: Recorded, watched Demons (pretty mediocre show but my man crush on Philip Glenister insures that I tune in each week... ), and more recording.

Right now: Typing this and some more recording.

Gorillaz

The upcoming album, Plastic Beach (featuring contributions from De La Soul, Lou Reed, Mick Jones, Mos Def, Paul Simonon, Snoop Dog, among others), is set for release on 8 March. Huzzah!

Spam powered action

Received my first spam comment, which was sent to the last post and contained a link to a Japanese porn site. Guess that's what I get for not enabling the comment filter...

All things middle of the week. Sort of. Well, ish.

Tonight I worked on a couple more tunes for the upcoming JATSDFM project.

A teaser, or the product of someone who is easily sidetracked? You decide.

Yesterday, brought along Bis' Atom-Powered Action! EP and Action & Drama single for the commute. Let's go, let's go!

Discovery

Experienced the music of solo percussionist, Evelyn Glennie, for the first time last night when Ken played the movie, Touch the Sound: A Sound Journey with Evelyn Glennie. Muy fantastico!

Wengalesday

A touch of boredom has prompted me to attempt the renaming of today, without success. Oh, the beauty of a failed invention that cost nothing but a few moments of time...

This evening, though, the level of activity increases by many folds (quite possibly literally) as I will be at the Shimamotos for a HIO-themed "arts and crafts" event. Along with Mr. Horn, we will be assembling A Box of Hentai, er, box sets.

HIO, with all the trimmings

Thieved this pic of A Box of Hentai from Ken's blog.

From the Facebook site:

Here's the deal: $30 gets you two DVDs, four CDs (including "au naturel" performances as well as remixes), stickers, a poster, and an interesting container to hold 'em in. You're paying for "the romance of the artifact." If you haven't got the scratch, you can see and hear_almost_all of our stuff at Reverbnation and Virb.

Home again

Koosie returned home last night, set up with his own "private pad" in the bathroom isolated from the other cats (just to be certain that he is urinating). He's quite a happy little guy to be back.

A chuba chaba chiba...

The CliffsNotes guide to the weekend

Today I recorded the "skeletal framework" to the tune that's been on a constant loop in the head for the last several days. Would had done it yesterday but the Doctor Who marathon on the Beeb (leading up to the departure of Tennant's tenure as the Doctor later that evening) proved too strong of a temptation for me to resist.

Missed the initial airing of the Tenth Doctor's farewell last night when Carey and I had to take my cat, Koosie, to VCA for a bladder impaction. He should be able to return home tomorrow.

This evening Carey arrived with a new addition to the family. He's an eight month old pygmy goat intended to become Roman's new sidekick. Fingers crossed...

Plans and miscellanea

Quite tired today. Don't know why I am, since I had nearly eight hours of sleep last night and six cups of coffee today.

A tune has been stuck in the noggin for the last several days that I will attempt to put onto the hard drive tomorrow.
