Portions of the weekend with lashings of links

Besides the bleeding heat (I do a quite good impersonation of a sieve, even in forty degree weather), the HIO show behind - and a bit to the side of - Doc's on Saturday was fun. Read the bearded scribe's account here.

Sunday was spent hammering out a couple of new tunes under the JATSDFM moniker, rescuing the goats from no man's land, and getting my Britcom fix. 'Tis the jet-set life that I lead...

Some people really do my head in, and leave me to wonder how they have survived sixty-plus years without common sense and intelligence.

Hot stuff*

*A nod to the late, great dub master and toaster extraordinaire, I-Roy:

Don't Check Me With No Lightweight Stuff (1972-75) (1997)

The relentless 100+ degree heat is doing the home air conditioner in. Currently listening to the Estonian composer Arvo Pärt's Tabula Rasa (1977) as I wait for the repairman to arrive and service the poor, overworked unit.

The weekend that was

Worked on the current JATSDFM projects (LCD, the "fourth" album, the collaboration with Phil Ford, and aural shenanigans with Terry Horn) and... that's about it, really. Besides performing the average mundane human functions such as eating, sleeping, and the all important (lucky for you, the reader) et cetera, it was a pretty quiet weekend which is the way I like it.

What better way to celebrate Bastille Day than to have some cheese*...

Failed. Again.

As I had admitted in an earlier post, I am a poor multitasker. Here are a few clips of Pulp's set at the Wireless Festival last Sunday:

Phlegm flam

I've been a bit ill for the duration of the holiday weekend and thus not as productive as I would have liked to had been. Managed to mix a track for a JATSDFM album in the works called LCD today, and hoping to get started on the Phil Ford collaboration sometime this upcoming week.

Here's a full preview of one of the tracks from LCD. Bon apetite!
