This, that, and some of those

Nearing the end of the recording phase for a tune which I've been cobbling together since mid-March and is based on a melody that had been "mothballed" since 1999. Complex? No but I have never known what to do with it, exactly. We shall see...

Sunday, I was on a bit of a post-Gabriel/pre-...And Then There Were Three... kick, spinning A Trick of the Tail and Spot the Pigeon during brekkie.

A Trick of the Tail (1976)

Spot the Pigeon EP (1977)

For Monday... Metamatic-era John Foxx:

Metamatic (1980)

B/W "20th Century" (1980)

A continuation of an auditory theme

Decided to end yesterday by spinning tuneage from probably my favourite period of music (late Seventies through the early Eighties, and in particular, post-punk and new wave). Same verse same as the first... so to speak:

The Original Sin (1979)

B/W "Now That You're Gone" (1979)

Compass Kum'pas (1980)

B/W "Tame The Neighbours" (1980)

For a Tuesday

Not of the religious persuasion, mind you, but I believe one does not need be in regards to appreciating Vaughan Williams' choral works. In particular: "Mass in G minor" (1921, not 1923 as given in the YouTube video below), a beautiful piece which has been on the mind almost constantly since this past weekend.

Little ditty

In an attempt to achieve a bit of "zen" last night I wrote and recorded a short tune which has been added to the Repository: 2012 album. Somewhat disgusting song trivia? The two lines that constitute the lyrics were taken from a scribbling about a junkie I knew whose nickname was "Michelin Man", due to his bulbous shape which was a result of inflammation caused by the countless abscesses that covered his body. Sounds dreamy, yes?
